Roofing under solar · Las Vegas
Solar remove & reset
Panels come off, the roof underneath gets done properly, panels go back on. We coordinate directly with your solar company so the roof work and the electrical work stay in step and nobody voids anybody's warranty.
Roof work with panels on it
Tens of thousands of Las Vegas tile roofs now carry solar, and a lot of them were on 15-year-old felt when the panels went on. When that underlayment fails, the roof has to be fixed under the array, and that means the panels come off. The mistake homeowners get burned by is letting a roofer and a solar company point at each other: the roofer will not touch the panels, the solar company will not touch the roof, and the leak gets worse while the two of them argue about whose warranty covers what.
We coordinate the whole sequence. Your solar installer (or a licensed electrical contractor if your installer is gone) de-energises and removes the modules and racking. We do the roof: underlayment, flashing, and proper flashing of every standoff when the racking goes back. The panels are reinstalled and recommissioned, and you get the roof photos from before and after the array went back on.
What we handle
- Scheduling the removal and reinstall with your solar company, and the roof work in between so the panels are off for as short a window as possible.
- Full lift and relay, or a targeted repair, under and around the array footprint.
- Proper flashed mounts on reinstall: no more lag bolts through tile with a dab of sealant.
- Documentation for both warranties, so the solar company cannot blame the roof and the roof warranty is not voided by the racking.
- Roof prep before a new solar install, so you are not putting a 25-year system on 5-year paper.
Before you go solar
If your tile roof is 15 years old or older and you are about to sign a solar contract, get the underlayment inspected first. Replacing it now, before the array goes on, is a fraction of what the same relay costs later with a remove-and-reset added on top.

Have panels and a leak?
We will inspect the roof around the array and tell you what the sequence and the cost look like, in writing.
The sequence
Panels off, roof right, panels on.
Inspection & coordination
We inspect the roof, count the modules and standoffs, and contact your solar company to agree the removal date and the reinstall date.
Remove & de-energise
The solar contractor shuts the system down, labels and removes modules and racking, and sets them aside on site.
Roof work
Underlayment, battens, flashing and tile relay as scoped, with the standoff locations flashed properly before the tile goes back.
Reinstall & recommission
Racking and modules go back on flashed mounts, the system is recommissioned, and you get before/after roof photos for both warranty files.
Pricing
Roof scope plus a per-panel line.
The roof is quoted by the square as usual. The removal and reinstall is a separate line, usually priced per panel by the solar contractor, and we show it to you as its own number so you can see the two halves of the job and who is doing which. Nothing is bundled and nothing is hidden inside the roof price.
Other services
The rest of what we do.
Tile lift & relay
Full underlayment replacement using your existing tile. The job most Las Vegas homes actually need when the roof starts leaking at 15–25 years.
Existing tile reused →Complete re-roof
Tear-off to the deck and rebuild — tile, shingle or low-slope. For roofs past relay, or where the deck itself has gone.
Priced by the square →Shingle & flat roofs
Architectural shingle re-roofs and repairs, rolled roofing and modified-bitumen on flat and low-slope sections. Same inspection, same written scope.
Any roof type →Leak diagnosis & repair
We find the entry point before quoting the fix. Most valley leaks trace to flashing, a cracked jack boot or a valley, not the field of the roof.
Diagnosis before quote →Monsoon & storm response
Emergency dry-in and tarping during monsoon season, then a permanent repair scheduled once the system passes.
Temporary dry-in, then a real fix →Roof inspection & certification
The inspection and written certification escrow asks for, with a scope of work and price if anything needs correcting before close.
Written report →Free inspection · Written scope · Insurance claims handled
Find out what your roof actually needs.
We walk it, photograph it, and hand you the square count and condition notes in writing. The decision is yours after that.
